Kimberly Hazard

Teaching and Outreach Program Manager

Kimberly Hazard is a PhD student in Environmental Health Sciences. Her research focuses on exposures in early childhood environments. She is part of the instructional team for the Fall Greener Solutions graduate course, providing student teams with coaching on hazard assessment. She also supports other BCGC interns and conducts outreach for BCGC’s Greener Partnerships program.

Sophia Steffens

Greener Solutions Co-Lecturer & Curriculum Development

Sophia is a PhD Chemistry student specializing in environmental fate of PFAS as well as PFAS treatment technologies. As a veteran of Greener Solutions 2018, she is a staunch supporter of the program and the way it bridges academia and industry to inspire creative, green chemistry solutions to some of the tough realities we are facing in terms of chemical safety. Outside of the lab, Sophia enjoys visiting Oakland coffee shops, running, and surfing in the cold Pacific.
